Basil is one of the most popular herbs around the world, used in Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mediterranean and just about any cuisine under the sun. Basil grows best in hot, dry conditions, which is why Regency's dried basil from Egypt is one of the best varieties in the world. It has a highly savoury taste thanks to highly concentrated volatile oil contents. These give it it's lovely savoury flavour, comparable to oregano, celery, carrots and cilantro. Our most popular use for these is slow cooking in a lasagne, and also sprinkling on top of freshly baked pizzas. To ensure the best natural flavour, Regency Basil is naturally sundried for preservation.
