Green Cardamom prices have gone to an all time high of several decades, rocketing up for the last 10 weeks in a row. We are still not sure what is the main source of this surge in demand, but it could be due to huge price rises in Vanilla over the last 2 years leading to development of new dessert flavours. Other dessert-type of spices including Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Mace have all seen steady price rises for the last 3-4 months. Onion Powder is finally dropping in price, due to warm and wet weather in producing regions (India, China are the biggest). |
