Compared to ordinary black pepper, these Kampot Black Peppercorns are a totally different game. These peppercorns smell citrusy and carry some great delicate citrus, mint and hot pepper flavour notes, making them quite unique. BlackåÊKampot Peppercorns are peppercorns harvested at their full maturity and are thus stronger in the peppery mouthfeel compared to the Red Kampot Peppercorns.

Much like our Malabar Black Peppercorns, Kampot Peppercorns are a region protected product, much like Champagne, meaning they can only be legally marketed as Kampot if they are grown in a specific region of Cambodia, have the farm certified and licensed by the local government and grown to specific standards, and the process repeated each year. This adds a tremendous cost and scarcity to anotherwise simple gift from nature.

Usage: They can work with fresh caught seafood, and also in Cambodia's favourite curry dish Fish Amok - with lemongrass, coconut and turmeric.

Our spices will have variations in size and colour due to factors such as the amount of sunlight they received when growing, or the amount of rainfall in a particular season. These differences in appearance are entirely normal, and are the result of not treating them with any chemicals, reducing unnecessary hand selection, and minimizing waste.

World’s best pepper

There is nothing like the fragrance and the kick of kampot pepper. It is hard to come by, unless you visit Cambodia, but Regency Spices offers it in different sizes of bags and so you can try the black, white or red. My favorite is the black. Amazing stuff.
