Milled and blended in Hong Kong.

Discover a new meaning to Chilli powder with this popular Chilean spice mix that's started to make its way around chef circles only in these recent few years. Merken spice is a smoky, spicy, mild-medium heat chilli mix balanced with salt and coriander and tastes great on just about anything. Some more popular uses are as a condiment with roasted vegetables and baking potatoes. You can also mix some in an aoili to get something much taster than ordinary chipotle.

In southern America, it's also highly popular on ceviches, as a dry rub on seafoods (think catfish, tuna, or scallops), and in Europe it's started to become a flavour of choice in top michelin and bar circles for seasoning cheeses and even peanuts.

Merken Chile Spice is relatively mild on the scoville scale, but to someone not expecting the chilli bite it can still pack a punch. Use small amounts for a great flavour effect and aroma.
