Milled and blended in Hong Kong.
Arguably one of the most well known spices by name, Nutmeg is one of the most flavourful spices in the world, and also one of the most expensive. Freshly grate and add to almost any food to impart a fragrant sweet and herbal flavour. This season our Nutmeg has been freshly flown in from India, and we find it best used for desserts, as well as almost all African and Indian cooking.
Please note: Regency freshly ground nutmeg will have some small clumps, this is because ours has a very high oil content.

Industry Knowledge Nutmeg, historically native only to a small cluster of small volcanic islands in Indonesia, is now cultivated around the world with varying success. Regency has found the best tasting Nutmeg seed in Eastern Java, Indonesia. The seed here grows to be extra large in size, and this season better than Indian Nutmeg in taste. Nutmeg grows with an outer layer of Mace, and as such the two have a similar flavour profile, albeit different uses due to their different physical properties. Our Mace is sourced from it's native home in Indonesia - where it grows to taste best. Another hidden secret about Nutmeg is that it is a very weak hallucinogen; caution and moderation should be exercised when handling larger quantities of the spice.
Nutmeg is processed by first removing the Mace, then drying over a slow charcoal fire for several weeks. In addition, it is also often sundried. Once thoroughly dried, they rattle in the shell, which is cracked with a mallet. The nutmegs are then graded and sold at a range of prices to suit different markets. Regency's First Selection Grade is the best available in the trade, and for the first time, it is being brought unmixed and pure to its name, directly to consumers.
*INDUSTRY SPECIFIC TERMINOLOGY.
Please note that our ingredients are 100% natural and processed using traditional methods. As a result there may be some visible imperfections. Our spices will have variations in size and colour due to factors such as the amount of sunlight they received when growing, or the amount of rainfall in a particular season. These differences in appearance are entirely normal, and are the result of not treating them with any chemicals, reducing unnecessary hand selection, and minimizing waste.
Love the taste
Compared to nutmeg I have received before from you, this seemed old and lacked flavour. I was a bit disappointed (every thing else was great as usual!)
Hi James, sorry to disappoint! Do you want us to arrange a replacement for you? We are always more than happy to do so within 30 days from delivery, or a refund. Please let us know with your order number by email and we can follow up. Thank you!
Nothing to complain !
The aroma makes it a pleasure to grate.
Like to add a quarter of a teaspoon of RegencySpice nutmeg to all my cookings with apples :) Cinnamon is not enough without its spouse :P
