Milled and blended in Hong Kong.
Whole Ginseng roots. The name Ginseng originates from the Hokkien Chinese word Jin-Sim, which refers to a person's plant-roots, thought to refer to how the root of ginseng forks similarly to the legs of a person.Ginseng has been treated as a medicinal herb for thousands of years with some known written references dating back to 196AD from China, although clinical research has been inconclusive about the health benefits. It's only natural then that some of the world's best ginseng originates from China. We have compared various varieties of Chinese ginseng and although medical research has not been conclusive, Chinese ginseng tends to taste slightly sweeter and more liquorice-like making it among the best for culinary use. In the culinary world, Ginseng is great for brewing tea, distilling gins, vodkas and also putting in soups to get an earthy-liquorice taste.
Regency Ginseng is grown naturally and wild. Wild mountain ginseng is relatively rarer, and often counted as an endangered species. Recently wild ginseng is being overharvested immaturely all over the world (from Korea, to the USA, to Canada), as the roots take years to grow.
