Dill Seeds are easier to buy good quality of than some of our spices. However, there are a few things to note when searching for the best quality Dill Seeds. One noteworthy point is checking whether you have shelled or unshelled Dill Seeds. Shelled Dill Seeds are better for eating directly, but often not necessary, much more expensive and also harder to store – it is up to you which you prefer. Unshelled Dill Seeds also keep their quality better, and are more nutritious. Both can be powdered to enjoy their nutrition and health benefits. Some unscrupulous traders also add extra weight to dill seeds through mixing in cheap oil, or soak them in water first. This means the actual Dill Seed portion you’re buying is relatively a lot less.
