    Tips on buying quality Basil

    Herbs are one of the toughest food products to buy high quality of. To buy high quality Basil online, you need to be fully sure that what you’re getting is really Basil Flakes, and not flakes that look like Basil but are duds. This is really common in the herb trade, and we indirectly refer to this kind of dilution using different %s of volatile oil. Pure Basil has a high volatile oil %, around 2-3%. Diluted ones are usually much lower, 1.5%, 1.3% and sometimes even 1%. This is one reason why Regency’s basil flakes smell as strong as they do – they’re pure!
