COVID-19 is still affecting the supplies of all Indian Spices - India was in a 90 day lockdown, which has only recently been lifted for most of the country. Parts of the country still have heavily restricted movement, and a huge backlog of operations is causing a slowdown while the country plays catchup. Indian spices are essential in most of the world's cooking (think cumin, coriander, black pepper, fennel)... these spices have widespread use from european to south american and also chinese cooking. Pistachio and Walnut prices are finally starting to drop and our catalogues have been updated. We expect some more drops to come in the next few months here for nuts. Cassia and Star Anise prices jumped up in the last month, as old crop stocks are finishing up. These items usually start harvesting and drying from August / September onwards. |
