Kaniwa is another super-grain that was recently discovered by the English-speaking population. Much like Quinoa, Kaniwa also originates from South America, and is a more well balanced grain: high in proteins and fats, and relatively low in carbohydrates. Kaniwa grains are tiny, like poppy seeds. Cook just like rice, and saute with your favourite spices before serving. Also known as Canihua, qañiwa, qañawa or qañawi, qaniwa, Caniwa, Chenopodium pallidicaule.

Directions for use Cook 1 cup Kaniwa with 2 cups liquid like any other rice or grain. Tastes great when sauted with oil and any mild seasoning. Suggested to saute with onions, lime, and a hint of curry powder
