Directions for use Use spice directly, no need to grind. Make sure to strain after use. If grinding, use a pestle and mortar or an electric spice grinder. Optional tip if using whole: Pound for 10-20 seconds before use in a pestle and mortar to release more flavour.

These Chinese Sichuan Peppercorns provide a unique sensation on the taste buds, instead of being hot or pungent like other peppers and chillies. They create a unique tingling, numbing sensation which prepares the palate for the intense heat usually accompanied with the peppers. Sichuan Peppercorn seeds themselves do not contribute to the taste - they are gritty and unpleasant to taste.
