The Regency Pestle and Mortar is the perfect crusher for spices, herbs and seeds. It's heavy and strong, and lets you freshly grind your spices into a course powder in a minute per use. Ours is made of ceramic, just like a traditional pestle and mortar, so it's much stronger than common modern options like bamboo or plastic versions. It also has a small spout, convenient for pouring if crushing ingredients for a curry paste in. This pestle and mortar is the perfect grinder for: Sichuan Peppercorns, Coriander Seeds, Allspice, Pink Peppercorns, Yellow Mustard Seeds, Carom Seeds and other small spices that cannot be ground in small quantities in an electric grinder. We especially recommend using the pestle and mortar to pound seeds before frying, as this releases more flavour during cooking. Feeling special? It also brings out the most in Saffron.
